At the Williamson County Fair – Cultural Arts

With the county fair fast approaching the community is gearing up for a fine display of cultural arts. According to Joyce Itin, the Cultural Arts Chair, there is a generous space filled with exceptional photography and fine art comprising the main draw to this exhibit.” The area is designed for patrons to come in and sit to enjoy the beautiful original art.

Pam Francis Fine Arts Best of Show Winner

Monday night August 6th is when winners are presented so don’t miss your chance to visit and talk with your favorite artist. “Past competitions have included photography Best of Show winners Derrick Pierce, Mike Gannon, and Reagan Moore, and fine art Best of Show winner Pam Francis,” says Itin. “The Cultural Arts area of the fair raises awareness of the vast artistic talent that resides in Williamson County.”

Itin says her favorite is the Amateur Fine Art division. Come out and visit the fair and see if you agree!

Many people spend hours of volunteer time to make this show possible. Give your thanks to the following after enjoying the show. Ronnie Leftwich chairs photography and coordinates the entry, judging, and hanging of numerous pieces of photography. Massood Taj secures the fine art judges; defines and coordinates the community art projects. The Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission provides the majority of the volunteers that plan and staff the area as well as funding the community art projects.

The Williamson County Fair runs from Friday, August 3rd to Saturday, August 11th.
