Four-Vehicle I-65 Crash Leaves One Dead, 4 Injured

A four-vehicle crash Monday on I-65 southbound in Spring Hill left at least one person dead on the scene and four others injured.

In the video above from Dawn Lavender, you can see the aftermath of the crash as one of the cars involved is off the interstate and on fire.

It happened at 4:17 p.m. near mile marker 54, and caused I-65 to totally shut down for about an hour while a burning semi-truck smoked on the scene and two lifeline helicopters landed on the highway to transport the injured, according to Spring Hill Police.

“At least one person was deceased on the scene,” Lt. Travis Plotzer, with the investigation-leading Tennessee Highway Patrol, said. “Three of the four vehicles involved were commercial vehicles. That is all I can say.”

Late Monday night, the Tennessee Department of Transportation estimated that the scene wouldn’t be clear until 4 a.m.
