Annual Historic Franklin Photo Contest Begins May 1

photo contest

In honor of Preservation Month in May, the City of Franklin Planning and Sustainability Department is partnering with local businesses for the 5th annual “My Historic Franklin” photo contest. Amateur and professional photographers are invited to post their photos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MyHistoricFranklinPhoto, plus tag the City @cityoffranklin from May 1-15. The top 10 photos will be displayed at Starbucks in Historic Downtown Franklin on their magnetic photo wall in June.

Judges will choose a first, second and third place winner. The first-place winner will get a fabulous night out on the town in Franklin, TN valued at more than $150, including dinner at GRAYS on Main, and entertainment at the Franklin Theatre. Other prizes include Visa gift cards, a Heritage Foundation gift basket, and goodies from the Tin Cottage, Starbucks and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“This is a great annual tradition during Preservation Month to bring awareness to the places that matter in Franklin,” says City of Franklin Preservation Planner Amanda Rose. “We are looking forward to seeing this year’s entries. Anyone can enter and it’s so easy now for folks to snap a photo with their smart phones and use the hashtag #MyHistoricFranklinPhoto and tag the City!”

The City reserves the rights to use all photos entered into the contest for City promotional purposes. See official rules for entry here http://franklintn.gov/what-s-new/my-historic-franklin-photo-contest
