Ann Carroll School of Dance (ACSD) will make a move this summer to a new facility. ACSD is slated to transition from its two current studios, located on Harpeth Industrial Court and Liberty Pike, to a new facility at 93 Seaboard Lane in Cool Springs in early August.

The new 12,500 square-foot studio will include additional sprung dance floors, ample parking, and larger studio spaces. Most notably, the new studio will allow the entire dance school to be housed under one roof.

When Ann Carroll started teaching dance lessons in the basement of her Grassland home in 1970, her focus was centered on sharing her love of ballet and tap with neighborhood children. Nearly 50 years later, Ann Carroll School of Dance (ACSD) provides professional instruction in a broad array of dance and performance genres to more than 500 middle Tennessee students, and will soon call Cool Springs home.

Ann Carroll School of Dance Owner and Director Laura Carroll said the decision to relocate was centered on the students and parents her team serves.

“Ann Carroll has grown significantly over the years, and the studio is a second home for so many students — recreational dancers and pre-professionals alike,” Laura Carroll said. “The Cool Springs studio will provide more convenience and brand-new amenities in an environment where they can really thrive.”

In 2020, ACSD will celebrate its 50th anniversary, culminating with a commemorative dance recital at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, featuring both current students and alumni representing the generations.

“This upcoming year at Ann Carroll has so much in store,” Carroll said. “It only seems fitting to begin with an exciting new studio for our entire dance family.”

ANN CARROLL SCHOOL OF DANCE was founded in 1970 in the basement of Ann Carroll’s home and has become one of the most renowned dance studios in Franklin. Now offering ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, voice, theatre, as well as audition-based companies and competitive tracks, the school is home to over 500 dancers ages 2-18.
