An Afternoon at Titans Training Camp

By: Amber Pennycuff

Spirits were high as fans anxiously awaited for officials to open the gate for the Titans training camp Thursday. The Tennessee Titans began their training camp on July 26 and will continue until August 13th. There have been numerous changes to Tennessee’s program, and one in particular is its head coach Mike Munchak. Munchak was hired in 2011 and won a respectable nine games within his first season. However, the team only added six W’s for the record books last fall.

Former Tennessee Vol Justin Hunter was on just about everyone’s radar last Thursday. The young six-foot-four, 203-pound wide receiver was drafted to the Titans in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. As a freshman at Tennessee, he collected 16 passes for 415 yards and seven touchdowns. Although injuring his hamstring in late May, Hunter seems to be making a comeback and preparing himself for the big season ahead.
Quarterback Jake Locker has been a little shaky in the past for the Titans, however, it seems that things may be taking off. Setting up Locker in a shotgun formation on the field seems to give him more room to move and run the ball. The Titans have made it clear that Locker’s position and skill set on the field is a key essential to this season’s outcome.titans training camp 2
