‘American Idol’ Cancelled

Fox just announced this morning that the 2016 season of ‘American Idol’ will be its last season.

The season farewell judges will remain the same with Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr debuting in January 2016 paying tribute to the last 14 seasons.

Idol was a breakout hit for Fox when it launched in the summer of 2002. In Season 2, it ranked as TV’s No. 1 show, a position it held for an unprecedented eight years. Its ratings have waned considerably in recent years as the show weathered some rocky judging-panel overhauls and as general singing-competition fatigue set in, reported tvline.com.

ABC Renews ‘Nashville’

Nashville has its own list of past Idol winners and contestants starting with the first season winner Kelly Clarkson who calls Nashville home. Along with
Carrie Underwood, Danny Gokey, Colton Dixon, Melinda Doolittle, Mandisa, and Kris Allen.
