Ladies, spending time away from home with friends is a necessary stress reliever and a way to feel like a part of a community. And while catching up with your friends at a restaurant or cafe is always great, sometimes it’s nice to try new things. Here are some alternative things to do instead.
1Swap Party
This can be done anywhere and even in conjunction with the other activities. After all, what are friends for besides enabling you with new purchases and ideas? A great way to do just this is through having regular swaps with each other. Pick a theme out of one of your similar interests, and either shop for that item and bring it to the swap or bring items you already own that you are ready to part with. It works well for nearly anything whether you’re into accessories, clothes, crafting of any type, or whatever you’re into.
2Painting & Crafting
A painting class is a great way to expend some creative energy while hanging out with your best friends.
Here are some local options:
Wine & Design
You can bring your favorite bottle of wine & snacks and you’ll be taught step-by-step from one of the local artists and will leave with your own masterpiece!
Craft Love
Craft Love is best described as “Paint and Sip with POWER TOOLS!” You choose the project from their gallery that fits your style, then you add your own twist by picking your stain and paint colors in the shop. Craft Love supplies all the materials and instruction, you bring your drink of choice.
Coffee and Canvas
Coffee and Canvas™ specializes in mobile painting parties; they bring all the painting supplies to your location. Gather your friends and create some new memories! They can do painting parties inside homes, parks, churches, hotels, neighborhood pools, restaurants, etc…
3Go to the Shooting Range
For those who enjoy shooting, there are several options. If you’re into the competition, Shooting Chapters are something that you’ll be interested in. Two area chapters, both which meet at Nashville Armory, are Girl with a Gun and The Well Armed Woman. Both invite women of all shooting levels, and are interested in supporting you as a woman shooter. Nashville Armory also hosts a Ladies’ Night the first Tuesday of every month with specific themes, periods of instruction and actual shooting time. September’s ladies’ night is dedicated to rifles, while October is a shoot and scoot.
