The band Alabama is celebrating 50 years as a band with a tour and just announced on Tuesday they will end the tour in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena on November 20th with special guest Charlie Daniels.
The tour is called “50th Anniversary End of Tour Celebration.”
Randy Owen, Jeff Cook, and Teddy Gentry are the trio called Alabama formed in 1969 in Fort Payne, Alabama.
“It’s hard to believe we started this band 50 years ago in my parent’s house,” Cook shared with Taste of Country. “The Nashville concert at Bridgestone Arena will be a fun celebration for the fans and for Randy, Teddy and me.” Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease he’s only appeared on stage when his health allows it, but his microphone stand is always ready for him, should he want it.”
Charlie Daniels is also celebrating a milestone this year as it marks the 40th anniversary of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” a song that became a worldwide phenomenon following its original release in May of 1979.
