Severe weather is expected this afternoon, and on into the middle of the night in Williamson County and across the region.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 51. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.Due to weather concerns Williamson County Schools and Franklin Special School District will be dismissing early today.

Storms likely will not begin until around 1 p.m.

Severe Weather Outlook

Today’s severe weather, according to the NWS, includes between a 2 and 10 percent chance of Tornado.

Middle Tennessee has a 15 to 30 percent chance of getting hail.

Wind gusts are also possible, with between at 15 and 30 percent chance of 15 to 30 mph wind.
