After Secret Santa, Library staff gives to The Well

As part of their year end celebration, the Spring Hill Library employees did a week-long Secret Santa.

But for the last day, instead of giving each other gifts, they decided to each give a gift together to The Well Outreach, which helps provide food for hungry families throughout Maury and southern Williamson counties.

On Tuesday, Alison Worden, The Well’s executive director, went to the library to officially accept the donation, which totaled $150.

“We are very blessed to have so many partners in the community, not just from individuals but from businesses and institutions,” Worden said.

On top of the cash donation, the employees of the library also helped organize a canned goods and food donation. When Rep. Marsha Blackburn hosted a meet-and-greet breakfast last Saturday, all the attendees brought food to donate.

During the course of the year, Dana Juriew, assistant director of the Spring Hill Library, estimated that they donated 3 tons of goods to The Well this year.

The staff along with the Friends of the Library, also have been doing a scarf-drive, where patrons are encouraged to donate scarves that will at the end of the year be hung outside the Place of Hope in downtown Nashville, for those in need to have.

“We are just happy to do a small part to help those in need,” Juriew said.
