ACEC Launches Leadership Program

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee (ACEC of Tennessee) has launched its Leadership PE Program, a competency-based leadership program focused on engineers who are new to or preparing for management and leadership roles.

Applications for the program are due November 30. The competencies included in this customized program are: self-knowledge, building effective teams, communication, government advocacy, business acumen, and operating skills. Partnering Agencies include the State of Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Authority, Metro Nashville Water Services and the Corps of Engineers.

“This is a great opportunity for engineering firms to encourage and support their rising stars,” stated Greg Brubaker, PE, with K.S. Ware and Associates, LLC, and chair of the Business Practices Committee.  “The program participants will gain leadership skills while networking with members from other A/E firms, industries, and federal and state government agencies.”

The TENNESSEE LEADERSHIP PE program will include an orientation in January and four monthly sessions to be held in locations across the state.  Each session will be 1.5 days with the exception of the orientation session which will be two full days. The sessions will be facilitated by representatives of Partnering Agencies which include the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Valley Authority, Metro Nashville Water Services, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  Sessions will typically include educational topics, team building activities, networking opportunities, and a tour of a Partner Agency facility.

The application deadline is November 30 and the cost is $950.  For detailed information and an application, please visit: http://www.acectn.com/category/current-events.
