Fairview Middle School is proud to name Kimberly Bautista-Reyes as its Academic All-Star for the 2017-18 school year.

Teachers describe the 14-year-old as a dedicated student who always works hard.

“Kimberly comes to class every day with a great attitude,” said her teachers. “She puts forth her best effort and never gives up, even when the work is challenging.”

Before moving to Williamson County about a year ago, Kimberly had fallen behind in her studies. She says Fairview Middle is the first school she has attended where the teachers and staff have gone out of their way to give her the help she needs.

“I love the teachers here,” said Kimberly, who admits her favorite subject is math. “They are very good at what they do, and they take the time to show me step-by-step.”

Although she’s only in middle school, Kimberly says she already has a pretty good idea of what she wants to be when she grows up.

“I want to be a doctor,” said Kimberly. “I’ve known that since I was a child.”

Those who know her say the only thing greater than Kimberly’s desire to improve is her generosity.

The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, free food from Sonic Drive-In and other gifts from the district.
