$700 Million Ovation Project (WC 3rd Qtr Report Series – 1)

The intersection of Carothers Parkway and McEwen will see a lot of dirt moving in the near future. The announcement of the new Ovation project with a price tag of $700 million has the whole area buzzing. The 145 acres is the last large piece of undeveloped land in the corridor.

SouthStar LLC and Highwoods Properties have partnered to build 1.4 million square feet of office space, and an additional 350 thousand square feet of upscale retail for stores and restaurants. Also planned is a 315-bed, full-service hotel. The hope is for offices to open sometime in the middle of the year 2016. According to SouthStar new residential options will also be developed as apartments or single family homes, and a large portion of green space will be preserved within the complex.

The idea of living, working and playing within a central community is highly attractive to businesses and employees these days, and Ovation plans to bring that option to Cool Springs. Franklin-based Bristol Development Group will build the housing portion of the endeavor.
