1She’s a Native Nashvillian
Morgane Hayes Stapleton is a native Nashvillian, born in Nashville, which is rare to find these days. She has a younger sister, Melissa. Morgane recently posted a throwback picture on Instagram where she wrote, “Happy National Siblings day to all, but especially to my baby sister!”
2Morgane Met Chris Stapleton at Work
Chris Stapleton was working at a Nashville Publishing company in 2003, Morgane had a friend who worked at that publishing company where she would hang out waiting for Chris to arrive.”We’d hear the jingle of his keys as he walked down the hall, and we knew he was coming to play us whatever new song he had written,” Morgane told the Washington Post.
“She was a stalker,” Chris joked in an interview with Paste. The pair has their songwriting session on a Friday night at 6 p which turned out to be their first date. The couple wed in 2007.
3She’s an Accomplished Songwriter
Morgane is an accomplished songwriter, writing songs cut by Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, and Reba’s song “Ain’t Got Nothin’ on Pain” from her latest album Stronger Than the Truth.
She’s also performed background vocals recorded for Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, and Kellie Pickler, just to name a few.
4On Stage with Chris Stapleton
You can find Morgane right next to her husband on stage. After Stapleton left the Steeldrivers to pursue a solo career to release his debut album Traveller, Morgane hand-selected a majority of the songs from Chris’s library of over 1,000 songs. A favorite of Morgane’s “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore.“
“This is the most emotional, saddest country song I’ve ever heard, and you just spit it out in 10 minutes,” an incredulous Morgane told the Washington Post.
5Mother of Five Children
The Stapleton family has grown over the last few years. Morgane is the mother of five children. While they don’t often show photos of their children on social media, we know the couple has two older children that recently appeared on the red carpet with Chris at a Toy Story 4 premiere. In 2018, the couple welcomed twin boys and seven months later, they announced a new baby would join the family. A baby boy was born in May 2019 but no name has been revealed.
6They Call Leiper’s Fork Home
The small village community of Leiper’s Fork is home to celebrities like American Picker Mike Wolfe, Justin Timberlake, and in 2017, the Stapletons purchased 311 acres. Morgane has posted a couple of photos of horses which we are assuming is on their property but don’t know for sure. What we know is Leiper’s Fork is a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of road life.
7She’s a Business Owner
Morgane is frequently seen wearing turquoise jewelry. With her love of jewelry, she opened a new store called Tennessee Turquoise Co. in Leiper’s Fork. The new store is a curated selection of jewelry. A lot of what you find in the store is from Morgane’s personal collection, a representative from the store shared with us. They also shared it’s been a dream of her for years to find a place for a shop and finally, the perfect location became available in a Leiper’s Fork cabin.
