7. Quickest to Grow
Spring Hill has been the fastest growing part of one of the fastest growing regions of the country. Franklin and Brentwood were long-established cities by the time Spring Hill had even a 1,000 residents. In 1990, Franklin and Brentwood each had about 20,000 residents. Spring Hill, on the other hand, had just broken 1,000 in the 1990 Census for the first time, with a population of 1,464.
But in the nearly 30 years since, Spring Hill has grown many times faster than Franklin, Brentwood or Williamson County overall (and quicker than Maury County).
Today Spring Hill’s population is 36,530, essentially even with Brentwood. Here is how the population has changed over the last 80 years:
1940 | 543 |
1950 | 541 |
1960 | 689 |
1970 | 685 |
1980 | 986 |
1990 | 1,464 |
2000 | 7,115 |
