Bathos closing after 18 years

Bathos on Main Street quietly closed just before Labor Day. No longer will shoppers see the bubble spilling from the bubble machine signaling that Bathos is open for business.

BathosThe windows have white paper to cover the interior but there was a note from the owners attached to the window.

“After 18 years in business, Bathos has closed up shop! With literally hundreds of thousands of bath hullaballoos and bars of soap under his belt, Paul is hanging up his apron, turning off the bubble machine, and moving on to new pursuits.”

“However, we will continue our online store www.bathosfranklin.com with a reduced inventory, keeping those products which have been most popular with our loyal customers over the years. What we won’t change, however, is Bathos’ commitment to bringing our customers high quality, natural products, without those added chemical fillers and artificial ¬†ingredients, that fill the ‘beauty’ shelves in today’s marketplace. For those of you who are local fans, look for us at Main Street Festivals in downtown Franklin – we’ll have a Christmas booth at this year’s Dickens Festival in front of our former shop! Visit historicfranklin.com for more info! Last of all, thank-you to all of our customers who have graced our business – and danced in our bubbles- over the last ¬†18 years! Paul N. Barrett”

Next door to Bathos is Avec Moi, owned by Bob Roethemeyer, who will expand his store to include the Bathos location.
