On Sunday, July 12th, Homestead Manor opened it doors for the community to visit the property, take in the sites and enjoy small bites from Harvest restaurant. It was a Grand Opening celebration with over 350 people in attendance.  Here are five things to know about Homestead Manor.

1. It is a restored 1819 home that is listed on the National Register  sitting on 50 acres. It is the second full service restaurant to open in Thompson Station.

2. Under the direction of Executive Chef, Carlos Garica, the menu at Harvest offers both Tuscan and Southern flavors.  Some of the current dishes include:baked cannelloni with house-ground pork, rossa sauce, garden herbs, kale and spinach; a peach and pecan pizza topped with goat cheese, blackberries and balsamic drizzle; a citrus salad with orange, grapefruit, fennel, spiced pecans and red and yellow beets; a caprese salad with scratch-made burrata, green and red tomatoes, basil and balsamic; and for dessert, a cottage cheesecake with gingersnap crust and a blueberry and rosemary compote.  See the complete menu at Homestead Manor.

3. You must visit the  Conservatory bar located beside the Manor. Inside it features floor-to-ceiling windows and offer guests a front-row view of the herb garden, where ingredients are picked for the tippler’s glass.

4. When dining in the manor, take a look at each room.  Designed by Kim Leggett of City Farmhouse, there are nine distinct interior themes each appropriately named: The Library, The Alice Thompson Room, The Industrial Room, The Picnic Room, The Blue-Gray Room and our favorite, The Music Room.

5. Plan to have your next event at Homestead.  There are so many options from the  barn, to the manor complete with bride and groom suites, if planning a wedding, to the gorgeous  gardens.  It will certainly wow your guests just to take in the  picturesque views from the  balcony of the manor to the amazing gardens.  For more information  regarding pricing and availability, visit Homestead Manor.
