Franklin Theatre

movie-gang-christmasThe Movie Gang presents its Christmas movie, ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ at the Franklin Theatre.  Franklin resident and lead guitarist for New Found Glory, Chad Gilbert, started The Movie Gang a year ago with the intent of bringing family entertainment with a twist. Gilbert told us his selection process for the movies ones that will appeal to large audience.

“I try to pick fun pop culture movies that translate and appeal to multiple generations. Movies like ‘The Goonies’, ‘The Princess Bride’ and more. Then I watch them and try to find ways to make them interactive and come to life.  We’ve had sword fighting, karate on stage during the Karate Kid.  We try to make it super fun and memorable.  We also try to do over the top showings for holidays. Last Valentines Day weekend, we showed ‘The Notebook’ and gave out roses courtesy of Franklins Always in Bloom and free tissue boxes.”

At the Christmas showing, movie-goers can enjoy hot chocolate from Honest Coffee Roasters, and a sweet treat from Five Daughters Bakery. In addition to the treats, there will be special lighting to accompany the music throughout the movie. Tickets are still available for the 4 pm showing with very limited tickets available for the 7 pm showing online at the Franklin Theatre.  Those who arrive at the movie in their ugly Christmas sweater receive a candy cane!
