5 Things to Know About Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Event

If you are considering ringing in the new year with Keith Urban; we’ve put together a list of things you should know about Nashville’s New Year’s Eve event.

1. It wouldn’t be New Year’s in Nashville without some incredible live music. This year’s performers include Keith Urban, Peter Frampton, Brett Young, Judah & the Lion, Caitlyn Smith, Devon Gilfillian, and the Fisk Jubilee Singers.

2.Nashville will be featured in “NBC’s New Year’s Eve” national broadcast live from Times Square in New York City with Keith Urban hosting and performing live from Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve in Nashville (#NashvilleNYE). He will be joining New York City hosts Carson Daly and Chrissy Teigen with Leslie Jones.

3. The show will ring in 2019 at midnight ET in New York City, which will be 11 p in Nashville. Nashville’s Music Note Drop at the stroke of midnight will be streamed live at visitmusiccity.com/newyearseve.

4.The event is free. The tenth annual Music City Midnight will take place at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park and is free and open to the public. As announced earlier, Urban will be headlining for the third year in a row, leading a stellar and diverse lineup in Nashville that rocker Peter Frampton; Brett Young; Judah & the Lion;  pop-rock singer/songwriter Caitlyn Smith; soul and rock artist Devon Gilfillian; and the Fisk Jubilee Singers.

4. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Dec. 31, followed later in the evening by the raising of the Music Note to kick off the live music. The event will include the traditional Music Note Drop and accompanying fireworks display at the stroke of midnight. Be prepared for the weather, last year the temperatures hit 14 degrees.

5. You can rent lockers for your belongings. The locker rentals will be located to the right of the entrance located at 6th Avenue North between James Robertson Parkway and the train tracks (see a map). Anyone at the event can use them and you will have one hour after the event to retrieve your belongings. They can accommodate anything, but prices might go up depending on the size of the bag.
