5 Tennessee Day Trips You Must Take

It’s summer and its time for a vacation! Only In Your State compiled these great Tennessee day trips.  On their list are some local attractions, as well as, some that are only a few hours away.

1. Arrington Vineyards

Founded by country music star Kix Brooks, Arrington in a stunning piece of land that boasts a burgeoning event calendar, private event venue and great spot for wine tasting. Get some adults together and spend a classy day in the country.

2. Fall Creek Falls

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful of the Tennessee state parks, you can find Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park in Spencer, Tennessee. You can pack a picnic lunch and hike to the falls, or even rent a cabin or campground to stay overnight.

3. The Lost Sea 

Craighead Caverns is a neat underwater string of caves that has the largest underground lake in the United States – second largest in the world. Buy a ticket. Take a tour. Spend the day.

4. Leiper’s Fork

Historic Leiper’s Fork is precisely where you want to go when you’re looking for a small town with all the charm Tennessee can muster. You’ll enjoy a gorgeous drive out into the country, then will be able to fill up on some down-home food at Puckett’s.

5. Land Between the Lakes

There are 170,000 acres in what is known as the, ‘Land Between the Lakes.’ Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee share the area between both Barkley and Kentucky Lakes, and you can hike, hang out down by the water or book a campground for a nice day out.
