5 Summer Camps Your Child Will Love

It’s hard to believe, but summer really is just around the corner. And with summer comes summer camp! It’s a time where kids get to explore, meet new friends and give their much deserving parents a bit of a break!

Here are 5 summer camps you should check out. Registration for many camps is already underway so book today!

1. Gratitude Ranch

Gratitude Ranch offers 4 week-long sessions for children ages 3-12 from 9a-2p Mon through Friday. Each session will focus on different art programs (music, arts & crafts or drama) in addition to working with our animals and exploring the great outdoors through a variety of activities.

They are located 8 miles outside Leiper’s Fork on Old Hwy 96.

2. Fern Top Nature Preschool

Fern Top Nature Preschool is hosting their Small Wonders Summer Camp, a creative and fun program for the young campers, ages 3-7. Fern Top is a place where they will explore the outdoors and learn about nature. Three sessions are offered in July Monday through Thursday from 9a-2p. Only 15 spots are available for each session.

3. The JAM Music Camp
At Ensworth, 7401 Hwy 100
The JAM is an advanced music camp for aspiring young musicians with at least 2 years of experience – there are no beginner lessons offered at The JAM. The JAM is primarily for the young musician who is looking to advance professionally and seek out future band members. After auditions, each student is carefully assigned to a band. Age, ability, questionnaire and genre interest are all carefully considered during the compilation process. Participants actively spend their entire week preparing for two mind-blowing showcases at weeks end.

4. Deer Run Camps 
3845 Perkins Road, Thompsons Station
Founded in 1998, Deer Run is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian camp and retreat center.Deer Run offers day & overnight camps. They offer camps for children of all ages; they even have family camp!  Deer Run is located on 100 acres of scenic, wooded property just 10 miles from historic downtown Franklin, TN.

5. Barefoot Republic Camp
Barefoot Republic Camp offers two different camp experiences depending on campers’ grade level.  Overnight Camp is open to incoming 3rd-12th grade campers and is available for seven weeks in the summer; weeks are broken up based on grade level.  Day Camp is available for those campers who are incoming K-6th grade and available for four or more weeks at at least four different locations in Franklin, Brentwood and Nashville.

Camp runs from 9a-4p and daily activities include Bible study and worship, specialty classes in athletics, performing arts and visual arts (click here for a full list of activities) and free time with inflatables and pony rides.
