Wakeboarding can be as easy as getting the right equipment, sitting down, holding on and standing up. Here are five steps to go from beginner to wakeboarder in five minutes.

1. Get Ready

Put on your life jacket, and get a spotter- someone other than the driver of the boat who will watch you and make sure everything stays safe. Choose your stance- regular or goofy? You stand with the foot forward you instinctively put ahead when you lose your balance. An easy way to do this is to lean forward with someone holding your shoulders, then have them let go. Whichever foot you put forward to stop your fall should be forward on the board.
