Country music’s biggest night is the CMA Awards that will air live on Wednesday night from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC.
Here are some things you shouldn’t miss as you watch the awards show.
1. Luke Bryan opening CMA Awards.
Luke Bryan is set to perform “What Makes You Country” and is bringing some surprise guests. In a release, Bryan says, “When we began talking about this performance I thought this would be a perfect time to share the stage with a few deserving artists who may not otherwise have an opportunity to be a part of the show.”
2. Garth Brooks to reveal new song
Garth will reveal a new song dedicated to his wife, Trisha Yearwood during the show but Brooks hasn’t released any other information yet.
3. A-List Entertainers set to perform
Chris Stapleton and Maren Morris will take to the stage with past Pilgrimage Festival performer – Mavis Staples.
Pistol Annies (comprised of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angeleena Presley) will perform.
Bebe Rexha is on the list to perform with Florida Georgia Line.
4. Ravenwood High School Band to be featured.
We don’t know the details but be on the lookout for the Ravenwood High School Band at the awards show.
5. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley return as hosts.
Back for the 11th year as hosts, Underwood and Paisley will probably discuss her pregnancy and maybe reveal what’s she having as Paisley did a few years ago when she was pregnant with son Isaiah. Or we are sure they will give us a good laugh with one of their parody songs.
Of note: if you are an early bird, stop by Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row Wednesday morning where Good Morning America will be filming live. GMA will befilming on the top floor. The two lower floors will be open to the public beginning at 6 a. Whiskey Row is located at 400 Broadway, Nashville.
