5 Last Minute Costume Ideas

If you (or your children) have been putting off getting a costume or are just now thinking you’d like to dress up but don’t have a lot of time. Here are five easy go-to things you probably already have at home.

Gather some green or purple balloons and attach them to your shirt.  Works best if your shirt is the same color or just wear all black underneath.

Since it’s a school-day/work day, wear your office shirt and tie, throw on a red cardigan and suddenly you become Mister Rogers.

3Cactus


Have an old green sweater with a couple of holes in it? Find those green pipe cleaner from your kid’s leftover school project, poke holes in sweater with pipe cleaner and create spikes, you’ve got yourself a cactus costume.

If dressing up isn’t really your thing, wear your own clothes and lose the letter later. Find a cardboard box or poster board. Write your letter, either use string or Velcro to attach to your shirt.
