In Williamson County alone, more than 130 sites are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Also, various groups and museums offer tours, ghost tours, segway tours and all you can ask for to help you see the history of the area.

Here are five things to take advantage of before the summer ends and it starts to get cold.

See the Battlefield

You would be surprised at how many people living in Williamson County have not checked out the place where the Battle of Franklin took place, on November 30, 1863.

The Carter House and the Lotz House, both on Columbia Avenue, are the places to start. They offer tours and both act as living-museums.
