1. Long Hunter State Park

This place is for those looking to really rough it. Located just outside Mt. Juliet, Long Hunter State Park offers two backcountry campsites along the shoreline of Percy Priest Lake. It is a six-mile hike into the sites, and they don’t have restrooms, running water or picnic tables. That means these sites aren’t for everyone, but they are great for anyone looking to rough it within a 45-minute drive. Currently these sites require a reservation on a first-come, first-served basis, but can be reserved online.
