5 Family Friendly Events This Weekend

School has ended and summer break has begun! What will you and your family do this weekend? The county is full of family friendly activities this weekend; here are 5 ideas.

1.Touch a Truck

Head to Jim Warren Park at 5pm Friday, May 20th and see public works and emergency vehicles up close. The kids can sit in them, honk horns and much more.

UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, this event has been canceled.

2. Nolensville Food Truck Festival

The Nolensville Farmers Market is hosting its first Food Truck Festival on May 20th at the Historic Nolensville School from 5pm-8pm.

In this first time event, Nolensville Food Truck Festival will have 11 food trucks available. Those trucks include ice cream, burgers, lobster, pies and more. See the complete list of food trucks below. Read more about this event here.

3. Pickin’ in the Park

Pickin’ In The Park in Spring Hill takes place at Harvey Park. It is a free event for all ages of the Spring Hill/Thompson’s Station community to enjoy. Performing at May 21 Pickin’ in the Park are: Allison Bencar, Ali Warren, Hannah Shepherd, Mare Wakefield and Nomad, Glenn Waechter and Adam Drasin. Music starts at 5:30.

4.  Franklin Rodeo

On May 19-20-21, the horses and bulls, cowboys and cowgirls will gather at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center for the 67th annual Franklin Rodeo.

Several hundred cowboys and cowgirls congregate to compete in seven pro-rodeo events, with prize money checks going to the winners..

Tickets for the Franklin Rodeo are $20 for adults and $10 for children. All seats are reserved. Tickets can be purchased online at FranklinRodeo.com or at the gate.

5. Renaissance Festival

Travel back to 16th Century England! Jousting, a renaissance marketplace, games of skill, food and drink, musicians, jugglers and more! The Renaissance Festival is open Saturdays and Sundays in May, plus Memorial Day Monday  10am – 6:00pm. The festival takes place at 2124 New Castle Road, Arrington, TN, 37014. Tickets are $22 for adults and $8 for children 6-12 years of age Learn more here.
