Independence Day Celebrations in Brentwood

With Independence Day falling on a Saturday this year, the City of Brentwood is expecting an even larger crowd than normal for their annual 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks. This is the 28th year for the celebration.

Held at the Eddy Arnold Amphitheater at Crockett Park, the event kicks off at 7:00 p.m. on July 4th with a concert, and then around 9:00 p.m. the spectacular fireworks display begins.

Parking is limited in Crockett Park. The community is encouraged to park at the Library or River Park and use the bikeway. Residents that live in nearby subdivisions are asked to walk, or ride bikes to the park. At 8:30 p.m. no vehicles will be allowed to enter the park after this time.

The tradition will continue with music being provided by “The Kadillacs.” The Kadillacs feature superb male and female vocalists, a dynamic rhythm section and a sizzling horn section. with a wide genre of music that every age group can enjoy. The Kadillacs

Brentwood’s Fire Chief Brian Goss reminds residents that all consumer grade fireworks are illegal in the City of Brentwood. This includes sparklers. Each year because of the heat here in Middle Tennessee, the Fire Department responds to fires started from fireworks where residents either don’t know the law, or choose to break it.

For residents safety and protection of property, city officials ask everyone to obey the law. “We are not punitive, however we do respond to complaints. Because we have a transient population some people do not realize that fireworks are illegal here. Our Fire Marshall reviews the professional plans for Crockett Park and other private displays very carefully to ensure safety,” explains Goss.

Each July Fourth, thousands of people across the country, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks – devastating burns, other injuries, fires, and even death.

The City of Brentwood has planned a fantastic community wide celebration, stay safe and enjoy the holiday.
