4 Charged in Franklin Prostitution Case

Two women were arrested and charged with Prostitution, and Promoting Prostitution, Friday in Cool Springs.

Acting on a tip that prostitution might be taking place in the hotel at 680 Bakers Bridge Avenue, Franklin Police Flex Officers initiated surveillance at 2:30 that afternoon. It did not take long for officers to observe traffic in and out of the hotel consistent with prostitution.

Edith Massie and Charly Lewis, of Illinois, were taken into custody,charged with Prostitution and Promoting Prostitution. Massie was released on a $17,500 bond on Saturday; Lewis remains jailed on a $17,500 bond.

Tennessee law requires police to issue a misdemeanor citation (ticket), in lieu of a custodial arrest, to certain offenders. Officers cited the two men listed below for Patronizing Prostitution, and released them. All four suspects will have the opportunity to see one another again – in court, on 05/14/2015 at 1:00 pm.

Officers seized Massie’s 2007 GMC Yukon at the time of her arrest.

“We will continue our aggressive pursuit of anyone engaged in prostitution,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “Our citizens do not want that here, and neither do we.”
