3 Teams Move One Step Closer to Championship

It was a big night in the Williamson County area, as one team punched their ticket to the Blue Cross Bowl and two more moved a step closer. Let’s take a look at last night’s action:

That says it all. BGA went on the road to St. George’s in a battle of #1 seeds and made sure it was never in doubt who was going to Cookeville for the Championship. 2 TD passes from Beathard to Cleveland in the first half made it 21-0 at the break. St. George’s would score in the second half, but so would the Wildcats. Final score 28-7 and  BGA is heading to Cookeville to face a familiar foe in Knox Webb. This is BGA’s first trip to the championship since they went in 2003. They will play Dec. 4th in Cookeville.

And the fine group of Seniors protected The Den and an unbeaten record Friday night with a 40-0 win over 8-4 Lipscomb Academy. The Lions have no time to celebrate as they will travel to perennial state power Milan (9-3) who beat Hickman County 38-0.

It was a hard fought battle. Ravenwood’s unbeaten record and last home game of the season . Centennial, the hardened team who had to fight and claw to get to this point the last couple of weeks. In what could be the last time these 2 football teams meet for awhile due to re-classification and re-alignment. Ravenwood would fight hard and win this one 17-10. Their reward is a trip to “The Haven” to take on an undefeated Whitehaven team. Whitehaven had their own close game last night beating Arlington 35-28.

Our Jack in the Box GOTW highlights will be up later today with video from last night’s game.
