When life gets busy and you realize you’ve triple booked yourself and you have no idea what to do with the kids or you simply need a break, a date night or just some time to yourself, drop-in childcare centers are a great option. They offer childcare services during the day as well as during nights and weekends and many don’t require reservations so they can be the perfect solution to your last minute childcare need.

The Children’s Playroom
The Children’s Playroom is one of the longest running drop-in childcare centers with two locations serving the Brentwood and Belle Meade areas. They are open to children from six weeks to 12 years, though they ask you to make a reservation for infants under 15 months just so they have someone suited to the needs of your child. No reservations are needed for children over 15 months. They are open seven days a week and will adjust their normal hours longer upon request. Children have an open play area with tons of activities, and there are designated play areas with multiple game systems for older children.
Hours for both locations are Mon-Thurs 8 am-10 pm, Fri and Sat 8 am – 12 am, and Sun 12 pm – 9 pm.

Child’s Play
Child’s Play, located in Franklin, TN, has been operating since 2007. They are open to children 1 to 12 years old. They have an open play areas with two bounce houses, riding toys, playground equipment, imaginary play toys, as well as tv area equipped with Wii gaming system. Children 7-12 also have a gaming area specifically designated for them equipped with two flat screen tvs, a Playstation, age appropriate movies, Nintendo DS Systems, and a foosball table.
Hours are Mon-Thurs 8 am – 9:30 pm, and Fri-Sat 8 am – 11:30 pm. They are closed on Sundays.

Children’s Hour
The Children’s Hour, also in Franklin, is open to children ages 15 months to 12 years old. They have regular hours as well as special event camps, Saturday night pizza parties, Private parties on Sunday, and other events throughout the year. They have planned activities throughout the day and encourage the children to interact with each other.
Their hours are Mon-Thurs 9 am – 9 pm, Fri 9 am – 11:30 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 11:30 pm. They are closed Sundays except for private parties.
