10th frame comes early for area bowling teams

The 10th frame came early for area bowlers as no local team was able to reach the Saturday round of the TSSAA State Bowling Championships.

Summit’s boys squad, a No. 3 seed, dropped their first match of the year in the Division I quarterfinal round, falling to No. 6 Bartlett 18-9.

Father Ryan’s girls squad, also a No. 3 seed, fell to No. 2 St. Benedict 18-9 in the Division II semifinals. They first defeated No. 6 Harpeth Hall 20-7 in the quarterfinals.

Several locals had success in the individual tournaments as Brentwood’s Kamron Doyle finished fifth in the Division I boys tournament with Summit’s Camden Gutshall one spot behind. For the Division I girls, Brentwood’s Camy Barber finished third.
