100+ Women Who Care of Williamson County Donates $10k to Gilda’s Club

100 Women Who Care Williamson County

100+ Women Who Care of Williamson County, one of Middle Tennessee’s newest philanthropic organizations, boasts a unique giving model: 100+ women come together quarterly for one hour. They spend this time learning about three local nonprofits. At the end of the hour, they vote for their favorite. The organization with the most votes gets a check for $100 from each woman and goes home with a whopping $10,000+ in donations. On May 2, at 100+ Women Who Care of Williamson County’s second meeting of 2019, Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee won the group’s favor and its free cancer support program – delivered from both Davidson and Williamson county locations – is the better for it.

“100+ Women Who Care Williamson County is thrilled to support Gilda’s Club as our second quarter beneficiary,” said Leigh Bawcom, co-director of the organization. “Gilda’s Club is doing significant work in our community to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families and friends. We are excited to be a part of their journey.”

“Since we opened our location in Williamson County a year ago, the community outpouring of welcome and support has really affirmed our decision,” said Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee President and CEO Sandy Obodzinski. “We are so grateful for the 100+ Women Who Care group for continuing that support by choosing us as their beneficiary. We look forward to a long relationship of building community within such a dedicated community that is Williamson County.”

Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee opened its Williamson county location in May 2018. Housed inside the Provision CARES Proton Therapy Center at 4588 Carothers Parkway in Franklin, the location is already seeing more than 300 people through its doors each month for support groups, mind-body and movement classes, expressive arts workshops, and special events for kids, teens and families.
