9 Tips to Be the Perfect Wedding Guest

Homestead Wedding

June is the most popular month to get married, reports soundvision.com. August and September are close behind. As its wedding season, we thought it was a great time to go over some wedding etiquette. We found these great tips from Style Me Pretty on how to be a perfect wedding guest. Next time you’re attending a wedding, keep these tips in mind.

RSVP – Do your part by sending back your reply promptly to the bride and groom if you will be attending the wedding.

Don’t’ Play Photographer – The bride has paid for a photographer for the big day. Stay out of the way and don’t try to be photographer.  There’s nothing more annoying than an arm in a photo when you try to snap a photo as the bride walks down the aisle.

Timelines Matters – This is not the time to be fashionably late. While the ceremony may be delayed, the grand entrance goes to the bride not the guest who is walking in late.

Don’t Wear White – No shade of white or ivory should be your outfit of choice for the day. Only if the bride asks the guest to wear white is it acceptable to wear white.

Enjoy the Party-  Don’t let the bride and groom be the only ones on the dance floor and don’t be that guest who is too cool to dance.

Don’t Assume You Have a Plus One– Respect the bride’s wishes and the number on the guest list even if it means you have to fly solo.

Don’t ask when they are going to have kids– Don’t be that guest who asks when they are going to start a family, they literally just got married. Let them be newlyweds first.

Please take the favor with you– The bride put a lot of thought and time into the favor, please be sure to take yours home with you.

Don’t say Goodbye when leaving– This may go against what you have been taught but saying “Goodbye” interrupts the bride and groom and takes them out of the moment.
