9. Post Office

Perhaps one of the most important factors in Nolensville becoming a center of population is its post office. The exact date of its founding is unknown, but by 1822, James Johnson was appointed postmaster. This was 32 years after the United States Post Office itself was formed. The local hub created a center and meeting place for local farmers and landowners. A number of buildings have served as the actual local office over the years. At least two locations burned down

At first, stagecoach brought mail between Nashville and Nolensville, which was the first stop after and last before the large city and population center.
