Red Pony’s GM Becomes Owner of Iconic Restaurant in Nashville

Earlier this month, Bob Baldwin, the original owner of Pancake Pantry in Nashville, celebrated his 90th birthday.

The iconic Pancake Pantry opened its doors in Hillsboro Village in 1961 and has remained in the Baldwin family ever since, most recently owned and operated by Bob Baldwin’s son, David.

According to the Nashville Business Journal, Pancake Pantry sold on Monday to Williamson County resident Crosby Keltner. Keltner has a vast history in the restaurant business as the original General Manager of Red Pony in downtown Franklin and managing the popular restaurant for 10 years.

David Baldwin purchased the restaurant from his father in 1988, but after no other family members had been interested in purchasing the business, he had to look elsewhere for a new owner.

At this time, Keltner has stated that he doesn’t plan to make any changes to the restaurant other than to keep the restaurant active on social media.

Pancake Pantry has been a long-standing tourist destination for breakfast. Often on the weekends, you will find patrons waiting in a long line for an opportunity to try one of Nashville’s oldest and best breakfast joints. You can even spot a celebrity there from time to time. The most recently spotted celebrity was Sinbad, who dined at Pancake Pantry while he was in town for his performance. Other celebrities who have frequented Pancake Pantry include Garth Brooks and Vince Gill.
