Running a marathon can be stressful. But the traveling musicians/hecklers in the video above gave those participating in last Saturday’s Franklin Half Marathon a good laugh.
The hecklers play the familiar “Dueling Banjos” tune, while dancing and yelling at passing marathoners. You can hear the musicians yelling things like “Where y’all runnin’ from?” and “Slow down young man! Come talk to us!”

Scott Wietcha and Ash Evans were the winners of the Half Marathon. Scott set a new course and race record by more than 5 minutes!
About The Franklin Half Marathon:
The Franklin Half Marathon began in 2013. With only a few months in planning, 1200 runners from several states participated. It was a hot and humid day, but the race had 11 water stations keeping people moving. While there were hardly any personal records set, the satisfaction level was high and the course views were “amazing.” The Franklin Half Marathon has been going strong over the last few years and each year has been bigger and better than the last.
