The Centennial Cougars rode the wheels of Jariel Wilson to capture their third straight win Thursday.
Wilson rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cougars to a 21-3 win at Clarksville Northeast.
The victory pushes them to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in Region 7-Class 5A.
Wilson’s first strike came on a 50-yard run to push CHS ahead 7-0 with 28 seconds left in the first quarter.
Northeast cut the lead to 7-3 with a 40-yard field goal a minute into the second quarter.
Wilson extended the advantage to 14-3 three minutes later with a 10-yard dash up the gut and into the end zone.
The sophomore put the game out of reach with an 81-yard touchdown run with just under eight minutes left in the contest.
Centennial hosts West Creek for another region bout on September 23.
