What's on Tap at the Williamson County Fair - Aug 12

Williamson County’s favorite summertime tradition – the Williamson County Fair –  kicks off Friday, August 5 with its 2016 theme, “Barnyard Mardi Gras,” featuring flourishes of the Big Easy in addition to a host of new attractions, special events and competitions. Now in its 12th year, the Fair has welcomed approximately 200,000 attendees, each August, to the grounds of the Williamson County Ag EXPO Park.

The Fair runs from Aug 5th through Aug 13th. Hours are: Mon-Thurs 6p-10p (midway closes at 11p), Friday 6p-10p (midway closes at midnight, Saturday 10a-10p (midway closes at midnight) and Sunday 12p-10p (midway closes at 11p).

Adding another layer of accessibility to its annual celebration of local agriculture and fanfare, the Williamson County Fair is now offering discounted “Early Bird Special” ticket options — available for purchase on the non-profit’s website — until midnight on Thursday, Aug. 4.

In keeping with its mission of providing learning opportunities for people of all ages, the Fair’s new affordable ticket packages will provide patrons with a 25 percent discount on general admission to the nine-day event, for the first time since its modern iteration in 2005.

“Each summer the Fair improves and it’s our goal is to make it as easy as possible for families to enjoy the unique experience it brings to Middle Tennessee,” said Diane Giddens, Williamson County Fair entertainment chairman. “I hope the new online ticket options make it more affordable for people to take advantage of the assets this event brings to the county and to see why agriculture is such an integral part of our community.”
