What to Expect at SOAR Adventure

SOAR Adventure

Finally!  SOAR Adventure is open to the public for climbing today.  You can’t miss the tower that sits 50 feet up with a tall ropes course as you drive down I-65 North towards the Highway 96 exit.

We stopped by yesterday to check out the completed project. It takes a few minutes just to take in the magnitude of the structure. As we mentioned in a previous article, there is no other ropes course like this one in North America. The KristallTurm® rope course is renowned for highest quality and safety standards. There are 18 KristallTurm Aerial Adventure Parks worldwide. Their headquarters is located in Lenggries, Germany.

“We are thrilled to be the first aerial adventure park of this size to open in the United States. SOAR Adventure Tower embraces today’s fitness and healthy lifestyles and will be a destination where families can play together, take risks, and push their limits in a safe and controlled environment,” said Kevin Vanderkolk, owner.

Before heading out to SOAR Adventure here is what you need to know:

1. There are four levels of climbing. One on the ground level for younger kids where parents can easily walk alongside their child. Each level from there gets progressively harder with more difficult obstacles to challenge you.

2. SOAR Adventure ropes course is 10,000 square feet wide, 50 feet tall, and has 110 different elements from a rocking chair on a wire, drum set, picnic table suspended on a wire, to riding a bike. It’s all there for you to try.

3. Leave your valuables at home. You will not be allowed a backpack or any type of purse on the course. You also will not be allowed to carry your cell phone or sunglasses.

4. For safety reasons, you must wear your hair pulled back if it is long enough to touch your shoulders.

5. Wear athletic clothing.  SOAR Adventure is a physical activity that requires clothing that is comfortable for climbing.  Also, you must wear tennis shoes.  No open toed shoes are allowed on the course.

6. Safety is the utmost importance to SOAR Adventure. SOAR uses the fallstop adventure safe link ssb. The smartest and most advanced belay system for aerial adventure parks and high ropes courses. Conventional belay systems in ropes courses and aerial adventure parks allow climbers to voluntarily or involuntarily completely detach themselves from the safety line. The Safe Link ssb  ensures that the climber is never detached from the safety line! Once attached, the interconnected carabiners can only be opened one at a time.

7. Be sure to fill out the waiver before coming to SOAR Adventure to give yourself more time for climbing.

SOAR Adventure is open Monday-Thursday noon-9pm, Friday & Saturday noon-10pm and Sunday 10am-8pm. SOAR Adventure is located at 3794 Carothers Parkway,Franklin.
