Made popular by the band, Twenty One Pilots who just played in Nashville on Monday evening, this activity is not for the  faint of heart.
What is Phone Pinching, or Extreme Phone Pinching?
It is where one “pinches” your smart phone with your forefinger and thumb over less than favorable conditions for your phone. A viral trend with teens that has parents on edge. Examples of extreme pinching include dangling phones over elevator shafts, off the sides of tall buildings, and lowered into sewer grates. Below is the Vine from Twenty-One Pilots that got this trend started which has been uploaded to You Tube.
We found these examples on Twitter. While this may give some an adrenaline rush, I think I will keep a tight grip on my phone. If you want to see more exmaples of extreme phone pinching, search the #extremephonepinching on social media.

And then there is always the possibility that things could go extremely badly like in this video. So, is it worth risking your smart phone and does Twenty One Pilots really care? If you notice in most of these Twitter posts, they have tagged the band members to Twenty One Pilots.
