New Westhaven Restaurant Re-Named After Beloved Family Member

A. Marshall Family Foods Inc. announced last week that it is renaming its Westhaven concept to Scout’s Pub.

Through its Facebook page, owner Andy Marshall asked friends to recall that the hospitality group asked for their voice in naming the restaurant — and as a result, came up with an appropriately witty name: Haven & Ale.

However, a tasting room in Chattanooga asked A. Marshall Foods to change the name due to similarities. The concept, called Heaven and Ale, is thinking about making an entrance into the Nashville market and thought the Marshall brand would hinder that. As owners of several small businesses, the Marshall family understood their position and is respecting their wishes.new westhaven restaurant changes name

So where did the new name come from? According to the family, they have  long been animal lovers, and Scout’s Pub pays homage to one of their most loved furry ones. Here’s to hoping there will be a dog contest involved somehow!

A. Marshall Foods also announced last week that construction has started on the restaurant, which means that an opening is just several weeks away.

Scout’s Pub will be located in Southern Land’s Westhaven development (158 Front Street, Suite 120), just off Highway 96. The 2,500-square-foot first floor will include a bar and grill, with a 1,250-square-foot patio anchoring the front of the restaurant. According to A. Mashall Foods, the concept will have a modern pub feel that provides a well-rounded menu and sought-after gathering spot for the many neighborhoods in the vicinity. Owners say that as a foundation, this will be a versatile restaurant, with great detail in the design and careful consideration of the atmosphere.

Scout’s Pub will be the seventh restaurant for A. Marshall Foods, which owns and operates four Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant locations in Davidson, Hamilton, Maury and Williamson counties, as well as Puckett’s Boat House, Puckett’s Trolley, Puckett’s Events & Catering and Homestead Manor, the farm-to-table restaurant and event property in Thompson’s Station.
