The Nashville Predators are down to three regular season games remaining and find themselves in a tight race for playoff positioning.
It appears the Anaheim Ducks (107 points) have run away with the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference standings while the Predators (104), St. Louis Blues (103), and Chicago Blackhawks (102) battle for the No. 2 position.
Finishing ahead of both the Blues and Blackhawks is key because it will land the Predators a Central Division title and first round matchup with a Western Conference Wildcard opponent.
If the Stanley Cup Playoffs started today, Nashville would be paired with the Minnesota Wild in the first round, meaning a return of former Pred Ryan Suter to Bridgestone Arena.
Though that is what would happen if the season ended today, it’s not the most-likely outcome.
According to Sports Club Stats, the percentages look like this:
38.1% a series against the Blackhawks
28.2% a series against the Wild
21.8% a series against the Blues
6.4% a series against the Jets
1.8% a series against the Flames
It is a 100% certainty that Nashville is going to the playoffs though, and tickets are now available.
