Weekly Predators Report: Cold Streak Continues

The Nashville Predators lost their sixth-consecutive game Saturday night, falling to the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 at Bridgestone Arena. It is currently the worst such streak in the National Hockey League.

It is by far their longest losing streak of the season, the next closest slumps being four cases of back-to-back losses.

During the span, Nashville has been outscored 22-11 by the New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild, and Winnipeg Jets.

The skid began Feb. 19, four days after the team added Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs. A cause for the streak could be the team having to gel with new teammates and new lineups.

Nashville has dropped to second in the Western Conference standings with 89 points, two behind Anaheim and two ahead of St. Louis with 15 games remaining.

The Predators look to right the ship with four road games over the next seven days, beginning Monday in Phoenix.
