Severe Storms Possible Wednesday

weather

A line of showers and thunderstorms, with some of the thunderstorms reaching strong to severe thresholds, may
approach and move through the Tennessee River Valley Region late tonight.

With any strong to severe thunderstorms that do occur, damaging winds will be the main concern, although large hail, brief heavy rainfall resulting in localized minor flooding, and the formation of a few tornadoes can not totally be ruled out.

The National Weather Service has declared Nashville at an “enhanced risk” for severe weather on Wednesday, which could include damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes and heavy rainfall. Forecasters say the timing of the system could happen anywhere from 6 a.m. to noon, meaning if you commute into Nashville in the mornings, your drive may be affected.
