The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) wants you to be aware of a scam that has Brentwood Police  and and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office busy.

Scammers are making telephone calls to residents claiming to represent the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office warrant division. Men, using the names Sgt. Kevin Taylor and Lt. Chris Cook, ask for residents by name.  Just like the scam we reported on back in March, the scammers claim that people must purchase a MoneyPak card, which is a prepaid card. If they don’t, an arrest warrant will be issued, they say.  The callers told them to go to Rite Aid or CVS to purchase the cards and take them to 408 Century Court in Franklin.

Brentwood Police are currently investigating at least five reports of this scam. WCSO says these calls are not coming from their office and one should never expect WCSO to call, asking for payment for missing jury duty.

If you receive a phone call that you believe is a jury scam, report it to the Sheriff’s Office at 790-5550 or call your local police department.
