It’s game on! Football is in full swing and Preds hockey just around the corner. Speaking of corners, we recently popped into Corner Pub at 1916 Columbia Avenue in Franklin to check out the digs. We found them testing a couple of new menu items, including a Southwestern Club (pictured left) that was awesome! We found out that the man behind the curtain, GM Daniel Rippy, was also testing out other new specials during the week. But the main reason we dropped in was to prepare for the most wonderful time of the year: Football Season! With over 10 HD Big Screens and Football Packages galore, Corner Pub is a great place to watch the game. More importantly it’s a great place to park the family for the games. Bring the kids for a free popsicle with a kids meal!
We have tested the menu, (and by we, I mean me) extensively since they opened up and here are my favorite picks:
Cheese Beans : A version of cheese sticks-but not a stick! Hot pepper and cheddar combo!
Cheese Tots : Crispy tater tots topped with cheese dip and cheddar and jack cheese. I am a tater tot freak and I am telling you add Chili for the extra $1 and send me a thank you note!
The Jalapeno Cheddar Burger :There are plenty of burgers on the menu starting at $7.99 but this is my favorite. It’s a spicy burger grilled up, with jalapenos, cheddar cheese, chipotle mayo and onion straws.
Real Pit BBQ Sandwich: Slow cooked , they pull their butts off to make this masterpiece.It’s got a small kick to the sauce, I enjoy slappin’ some slaw on top! Served with our homemade BBQ sauce.
The Reuben: Your choice of corned beef or turkey grilled on marble rye with homemade Russian dressing, swiss cheese and sauerkraut. This is just a darned good Reuben.
Chili or Soup of the day.. Fresh homemade chili (try it at next week’s Dog and Pony Show!) or fresh made Soup of the Day.
Our Top Pick: Homemade Meatloaf and a side ( or 2). this meatloaf is seriously awesome. You could order a side salad, but grandma served ours with mashed potatoes and gravy and that’s how we like it here!
Now look, I get it, sometimes you just can’t skip away from the house. No problemo! Corner Pub now works with Delivery Dudes to bring that pub grub to your house when you can’t escape!
