Video: Franklin’s Memorial Day Ceremony

Several hundred people gathered Monday morning for the annual Memorial Day Ceremony Monday, May 29th at 10 a.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Park (located at Five Points in downtown Franklin).

The program lasted approximately 45 minutes. Participants included the Williamson County Community Band and members of the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell and the Tennessee National Guard.

The special guest this year was Major Retired James D. Hochstetler. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and University of Hawaii with an MBA, Jim spent his career with the 5th Special Forces group where he commanded numerous missions to Jordan, Lebanon and other areas in the Middle East before retiring from government service in late 2016.

Also Mayors Ken Moore (city of Franklin) and Roger Anderson (Williamson County) spoke about the importance of honoring our nation’s soldiers.
