Uncorked Discoveries: 2015 Villa Pizzo Grillo and a 2014 Daniel Cohn Cabernet

On Friday, February 24th, don’t miss your opportunity to taste two delicious wines at Moon, Wine & Spirits in Brentwood. This week, they are featuring a 2015 Villa Pizzo Grillo and a 2014 Daniel Cohn Cabernet. Wine tasting takes place 5p-8p this Friday.

2015 Villa Pizzo Grillo

This award-winning wine uses Grillo, a white grape used for centuries in blended Sicilian wine, prized for its ability to withstand high temperatures. Though the exact origins of Grillo are uncertain (some historians speculate it originally came from Italy’s Puglia region), the grape now indisputably calls Sicily home. Bold and complex with plenty of body, it thrives when paired with food (richer fish, such as salmon, works wonderfully). But it is also nuanced with floral notes and hints of spices, dried fruit and nuts.

2014 Daniel Cohn Cabernet

This wine comes from the vineyards in Sonoma County and is rich and balanced with aromas of cherry, plum, and round silky tannins with multilayered vanilla refined from French oak aging.

These amazing wines are available at Moon Wine & Spirits in Brentwood.
