Two Franklin Establishments Cited For Selling Alcohol to an Underage Person

On January 29th the Franklin Police Department and Williamson County Anti-Drug Coalition (WCADC) conducted an alcohol compliance check at 13 local establishments. Out of the 13 establishments visited, two sold alcohol to a Franklin Police confidential informant who was under the age of 21. These establishments include Mapco located at 1501 Murfreesboro Road and Shell located at 1125 Murfreesboro Road.

Employees for both establishments were misdemeanor cited for the sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 21.

WCADC offers Responsible Beverage Service training to establishments that sell alcoholic beverages.

  1. Where is the correlation between preventing substance abuse among teens and running a sting operation on “poor” unsuspecting convenience store register operators. This is one of the most pathetic displays of law enforcement I’ve ever seen.
